My man Justin Tinsley at The Undefeated penned an interesting piece on Donny Hathaway and the making of This Christmas. I picked it up on Thursday via Twitter.
Being the HU man that I am, I was duty-bound to point out for the young brother the relationship between the Howard Inn and the legendary Ed Murphy’s Supper Club into the story. On the flip side, young JT inspired me to brush off my own Apple and give folks what I think is the baddest Christmas CD in the last 25 years.
I know, I know. Folks like to select a particular cut. But, I’m from Detroit. And, it would be too much like right for me to tell you that the baddest Christmas single ever released was the Temptations’ Silent Night.
I don’t waste time arguing it, either.
